New beginnings

Kung Hei Fat Choy! Today marks Chinese New Year. It's the year of the Horse. I thought it would be a most opportune time to begin a new blog. I've titled it 'zest and essence', which in some ways is a play on words because I love to cook with the zest and essence of key ingredients as they help to lift the dish in a whole new dimension. I also think that zest and essence also reflects the ideal of living life to the full. Finding what gives that added zest to life and the essence of what makes it meaningful.

Below is a photograph I took last night, on the eve of Chinese New Year. It is of the Sydney Opera House. I was really honoured to attend this event, organised by my husband. My favourite place is the Opera House and the photo was taken from the Overseas Passenger Terminal. It's also in my favourite colour.

I hope your year is filled with good health, prosperity, light and love!
